Fenos Brings Cutting-Edge Lighting Solutions to North American Design Week
AI-Driven Lighting Innovation by Kaveh Ahmadian at IDS Vancouver 2025
Renowned lighting designer Kaveh Ahmadian showcased his groundbreaking work at IDS Vancouver 2025 on Friday, September 26. His presentation, titled “AI-Driven Object-Oriented Lighting: Revolutionizing Colour Optimization for Art and Retail,” introduced an advanced lighting system that seamlessly integrates artificial intelligence with smart illumination for art galleries and commercial environments.
During the session, Ahmadian explored the concept of object-based lighting design, alternative colour rendering standards, and precise spectral tuning techniques. The highlight was a live demonstration showing how the system uses a standard smartphone camera to analyze object tones in real time, enabling the AI engine to automatically adjust light output via Bluetooth-connected multi-channel luminaires.
Attendees witnessed how intelligent spectrum control can dramatically enhance the visual presentation of artworks and retail displays.
Supported by Kohler and accredited by AIBC and IDCEC, this session offered valuable continuing education opportunities for professionals.
Ahmadian’s presentation at IDS Vancouver 2025 marked a significant step forward in AI-driven lighting design, offering an inspiring glimpse into the future of adaptive, intelligent illumination.
