AI Object-Oriented Lighting by Kaveh Ahmadian | IDS Vancouver 2025

We are proud to announce that Mr. Kaveh Ahmadian, one of the leading experts in the field of lighting design, will be speaking at the prestigious IDS Vancouver 2025 on Friday, September 26.

His presentation will be part of a specialized seminar titled “AI-Driven Object-Oriented Lighting: Revolutionizing Colour Optimization for Art and Retail,” which explores an innovative, AI-based approach to object-oriented lighting.

In this session, Mr. Ahmadian will delve into the principles of object-focused lighting, introduce new colour rendering metrics, and demonstrate methods for spectral optimization.
A key highlight of this system is the use of standard mobile phone cameras to analyze object tones, allowing artificial intelligence to dynamically determine the optimal light spectrum. This spectrum is then wirelessly adjusted via Bluetooth to a multi-channel luminaire.

The seminar will also feature a live demonstration, showcasing how this technology can enhance the visual appeal of artworks and significantly impact professional lighting practices.

Sponsored by Kohler, this accredited session qualifies for both AIBC and IDCEC continuing education credits.
It is a unique opportunity for professionals and enthusiasts in design, innovation, and technology to explore one of the most transformative lighting solutions of our time.
